How to set up a travel eSIM

  1. Check your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked (iPhone XS and later, Pixel 3 and later, most recent Samsung Galaxy S and Z models).
  2. Buy a plan for your destination before you travel.
  3. Install it at home over Wi-Fi by scanning the QR code or tapping install in the provider's app.
  4. When you land, switch mobile data to the eSIM and turn data roaming on for that line only. Keep your UK SIM active for calls and texts if you want, with its data turned off.
